Welcome to Conway Primary School
Welcome to Conway Primary School. Our aim for all Conway pupils is for them to enjoy coming to school, be enthusiastic learners and develop confidence and resilience to prepare them for their future. Our school provides a safe, secure environment where children can engage in a stimulating creative curriculum that enables them to make the best possible progress. We continue to strive for the very best for our pupils and, in turn, we expect to receive the very best effort from them.
We teach the children to set themselves high expectations and to believe in themselves so that they achieve their goals. This is underpinned by our values which are at the heart of our school:
Hard-work – Empathy – Aspiration – Respect - Trust
At the heart of our school are the children; Conway pupils are enthusiastic, hardworking, welcoming and kind to one another. Our committed staff work very hard together to make Conway a happy and creative place for the children to flourish and grow. The school’s environment reflects our desire to ensure that children, staff and our families understand the UN Rights of the Child and ensure these are met in and out of school.
We truly believe that as children leave Conway Primary School, they have the strong foundations needed to move onto the next stages in education.
We are always continuing to develop strong partnerships with parents and carers as we believe this is one of the best ways in which children achieve their very best. Do come in and see for yourself; the Conway team will be proud to show you our school.
Welcome message from Pat Smart, Executive Headteacher
Conway Primary School and Greet Primary School formed Create Partnership Trust in September 2016. We were joined in January 2017 by our sponsored school, Hodge Hill Primary School. Create is a multi-academy trust which is committed to achieving the best for all children across the three schools through a close collaborative partnership.
The three broad aims of the Trust are:
- To maintain current strengths and create secure and successful futures for all stakeholders in Create Partnership Trust schools, based on a collaborative culture with shared values and clear moral purpose.
- To ensure that all schools in Create Partnership Trust become forward thinking and dynamic centres of learning excellence.
- To develop strong working partnerships internally and externally, which have a positive impact on children's achievement, safety and well-being.
Greet, Conway and Hodge Hill work closely together - developing policies, sharing good practice and supporting and challenging each other. We want to see every child receive a broad and balanced education, be happy and safe and well prepared for moving on to their secondary school.
We are also very committed to developing our high quality staff and leaders who work hard individually and in their teams. The Trust supports their skills development and helps them to identify a career path so that they can be even more effective in ensuring that the children make best progress personally, academically and socially.
I am the Executive Headteacher with responsibility for the whole of the Trust - the three schools and Greet Teaching School which has a special designation to be outward-facing in order to bring more teachers into the profession, to develop leaders and to provide support to other schools in Birmingham by working closely with external partners, such as the Birmingham Education Partnership.
We are building Create by focusing on trusting relationships as the root of all our work. We have high expectations of everyone and we are never complacent - constantly striving to improve on our previous best. We are creating futures for everyone - our staff, our families and communities and, of course, our children.
We look forward to a positive future, great collective achievement and working with our schools, families and communities in partnership. We are stronger together.
