Conway Primary School had fun day learning about sustainability and how we can help to keep our community clean. Children wore green and brought in 50p to help buy litter picks, gardening tools and seeds.
Children in Reception spend their day learning about Mini-beasts and their habitats. They went on a nature walk and made lovely homes for different bugs.
Year 1 read the story of The Messy Magpie and learnt the importance of reduce, recycle and reuse. They then spend the day creating bird feeders out of reusing materials and going on nature walk to find birds.
Year 2 learnt about the affects of plastic on the environment. They spent the morning helping to clean the local community by going on a litter pick walk. In the afternoon, children reused milk bottles and created a table!
Year 6 learnt about pollution and the affects plastic has on the ocean. They then pend the day creating amazing silhouette artwork about the ocean. In the afternoon, children worked collaboratively to create tables and stools out of plastic bottles. They even tested them out!
