Handwriting Practice:

Using your reading books, copy out a page of text, ensuring you are writing in cursive style with consistent letter size and formation.

We are all individuals. In this topic we want to find out as much as we can about what makes us who we are. One way to do this is to find out about our family members who came before us.

Conduct interviews with a members of your family from a different generation (the older the better!). This could be a grandparent or a great aunt or uncle. If this isn’t possible then you could ask your parents. Asking more family members will make the activity even more exciting.

Hint: take notes while the family member is talking on scrap paper. Then, in your exercise book, copy the question with the answer in a full sentence below. Remember to think about details and presentation as this work WILL BE MARKED.

1. When and where were you born?

2. What were your parents’ names?

3. Can you tell me about your brothers and sisters when they were younger?

4. Tell me something that you remember about your Mum and Dad

5. When you were young, what did you do for fun?

6. What are your memories of school when you were younger?

7. When you were younger, what did you want to be when you grew up?

8. What different jobs have you had?

I’d like you to ask at least 2 extra questions that you have made up yourself.

I can’t wait to hear all about your families!
