Class 3k - Positive Test Staff Member in 3K

3rd December 2020

Dear Parents/Carers of pupils in 3K,

Unfortunately, we have to inform you that a member of staff in Class 3K has tested positive for COVID-19.

We have been directed by Public Health Birmingham to advise that all children in that class must stay at home and self-isolate until 17th December 2020.

All other children in your family should come to school unless they are showing symptoms.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your back or chest (you do not need to measure your temperature).
  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual).
  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

If you or your child shows symptoms, please keep them at home and get a COVID-19 test:
    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/get-a test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/

Home learning will be in place for 3K on the school website under the “Year Group Pages” tab. You should access the home learning and, where possible, support your child to complete their school work.

Learning packs will be sent home.

The teachers will be phoning you regularly at home to see how your child is getting on and to make arrangements for you to email photos of your child’s completed work so that they can give feedback. Your child’s teachers will be available to try to answer any queries about school work.

We understand this is an anxious time and we will continue to communicate with you. Let’s work together to keep this community safe.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs N Mills

Interim Headteacher
