COVID-19 Reporting

                                                                                                11th December 2020

Dear parents and carers,

COVID-19 Reporting after school has closed on the 17th December 2020.

At Conway Primary the last day of school for the children is Thursday 17th December, collection will be as normal at 3:10pm

If a child develops COVID- 19 symptoms on Friday 18th December or Saturday 19th December this means they must have a COVID test.

Procedures and protocols

• If your child has COVID-19 symptoms on 18 & 19th, you must take them for a COVID test.

• If the test is positive, the school needs to know, even if you don’t get the result until a few days later. You must report positive tests up to and including 23rd December 2020.

Unfortunately, I would have to notify effected classes and report this to Track and Trace: this would mean children in the effected classes would have to self-isolate over Christmas. In the event school needs to inform families of a positive case, we will do so via parent mail or text.

If you child has COVID symptoms on the 18th or 19th and then tests positive, please email:

officeemail@conway.bham.sch.uk

We will be monitoring the inbox daily. Please include in the email:

Your child’s name:

Class:

Date they became ill:

Date of the test:

Mrs Mills or Miss Williams will phone you back for more information so we can inform Public health England.

If your child becomes ill with COVID 19 after the 20th December, the school does not need to know, as it will have been longer than 48 hours since your child was last in school.

The first day back for children will be Tuesday 5th January. If your child has COVID-19 symptoms or anyone in your household, before the return to school, they must isolate, be taken for a test and their absence must be reported by ringing the school office.

We are hoping that this will not affect us, however, we do need to know, in order to protect our families. May I take this opportunity again to thank all of our families for supporting all of the procedures we have in place to keep our children, families and community safe.

Kind regards

Nicola Mills
