Tuesday 11th May 2021
Having taken guidance, we have made the decision to authorise absence for two days over Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
This means if you are celebrating Eid tomorrow your child can have tomorrow and Thursday as authorised absence or if you are celebrating Eid this Thursday your child can have Thursday and Friday as authorised absence.
All children are allowed two authorised absences for religious celebrations. As Eid-al-Adha is most likely to be on the 20th July, which is already an INSET day, we are able to authorise two days for Eid-ul-Fitr.
Please be aware that this is for this year only because of the way the dates have fallen. As Eid moves forward following the lunar calendar, we will review this arrangement each year.
Schools remains open as normal for all those children who are not celebrating Eid.
As previously stated, Friday 28th May is no longer an INSET day. Instead Monday 19th July will be an INSET day and we will be holding parent-teacher meetings following annual reports.
This means that all pupils will now finish school on Friday 16th July 2021.
