Letter from Miss Williams

Dear Parents

I hope you are all keeping safe and well. We are very much missing seeing you all, and of course the children, in school. I thought it might be nice to send out some positive news stories to you all this week. It can be hard to pick out the positive news amongst all of the negative stories in the media at the moment.

In case any of you missed this story on the BBC over the weekend, Captain Tom Moore managed to raise an amazing amount of money for the NHS. Such an  inspirational man! Here's the story:

There was an unmistakable sense of conviction in Tom Moore's voice as he addressed the camera after completing his walk. "To all those people who are finding it difficult at the moment," he said ...

I also loved reading about a group of support workers in Wales who opened a 'drive-thru' to support people in their community with special needs.

Our Support Workers in Neath have made their own replica McDonald’s drive-thru, to help the autistic people they support get through the coronavirus lockdown.

This final article is from The Telegraph on Monday this week. It is a collection of good news stories from a number of countries around the world- it was particularly uplifting to read about the positive effects lockdown is having on nature.

I hope enjoy reading them and that some of the stories bring a smile in these challenging times.

Take care of yourselves and your families.
