Letter from Mrs Smart, CEO Create Partnership Trust

Dear Parents/Carers and Families

I have important information for you.

Your Headteacher, Ms T Yasmin, has obtained a new post as Headteacher of Greet Primary School from September 2021.  You will know that she is currently working across the two schools but from September, she will be only at Greet.

Create Partnership Trust will be recruiting a new Headteacher for Conway.  The advertisement is going out this week and we hope to make the appointment by the end of term, giving the successful person plenty of time during the summer term to get ready.

I know that this will come as a surprise to you all and many will be disappointed but Ms Yasmin is staying with the Trust and the move to Greet is to a sister school.  The two schools have been closely partnered for 14 years and that will not change.  She will be communicating herself directly with your children and I know that she will miss them all.  But we are determined that this is not a goodbye – just a move half a mile away!

On behalf of everyone, I would like to thank Ms Yasmin for her wonderful work at Conway over the past four and half years.  The school has certainly strengthened during that time and she leaves a strong legacy of good leaders and teachers who will carry on the work and commitment to each and every child.

I am sure that as your children return to school on 8 March (and we will be so pleased to see them return!) that there will be plenty of opportunity for the children to talk to Ms Yasmin and other leaders and be assured that Conway’s good work, expectations and levels of care will continue.  And if, as parents/carers and families you have any concerns, please do contact the school (or indeed the Trust) and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.

Finally, as we move out of this lockdown period, I wish all families good health and good wellbeing.  What an extraordinarily difficult year we have had, especially those of you who have lost loved ones to this terrible virus.  Thank you to all of you for the sacrifices you have made in ensuring that your children’s learning has continued.  The staff have worked incredibly hard to provide remote education but now we will be so delighted to see your children back in school!  We have missed them!

Very best wishes

Pat Smart
