Letter from Ms Yasmin

Thursday 10th September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are writing to inform you that a child in Year 6 has tested positively for COVID-19. All children in that class are now isolating at home.

We have been informed that the child did not contract the virus at school; however, we have been working with Public Health Birmingham to follow all necessary measures in light of the news.

All other year groups are not affected by this because they are in different ‘bubbles’ and will not have come into close contact with the child in Year 6.

Please do not bring your child to school if they or anyone within your household are showing symptoms.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least 1 of these symptoms.

If you or your child shows symptoms, please keep them at home and get a COVID-19 test:

Please be vigilant and help the community by following social distancing guidelines and wearing a face covering when you come onto the school site.

We understand this is an anxious time and we will continue to communicate with you. Let’s work together to keep this community safe.

    Yours sincerely,

    Ms T. Yasmin
    Executive Headteacher
