Home Learning in EYFS (Nursery and Reception)
Following on from Ms Yasmin’s home learning letter on Friday last week, I am writing to give you further details about the home learning your child will be receiving if they are in Nursery or Reception.
We recognise that younger children will find it harder to sit and work through on-line learning lessons than the older children, and that this type of learning is not as beneficial for younger children. We want them to be having fun and learning through play as much as possible- just as they would be if they were in school!
Practical learning activities:
The teachers in Nursery and Reception will be suggesting practical learning activities for you to try with your child. These will be added to the Nursery and Reception Home Learning pages on the school website at the start of each week for you to access.
We are ordering 6 different story books for your child for you to read and keep at home. Your child’s class teacher will tell you which book you need to focus on with your child each week and provide learning activities linked to that book. Please can you read that book to/with your child (daily if possible) to support them with their learning.
There will also be physical activities and games sent out each week to help keep your children active, busy and engaged at home.
Each class has also had an email account set up so you can share pictures of your child’s home learning with their teacher, as well as ask for any advice or support with your child’s learning. Further information on this will be sent out later this week.
The home learning Year Group pages will be fully set up on the website from next week. For the remainder of this week, please have a look through the Robin Hood Academy Home Learning project ‘Under the Sea’ which has been put up for you. These projects will also be added to the website each week.
Many thanks for your ongoing support.
