Dear Parents & carers
Remote learning and device access
It is now a legal requirement to provide remote learning and education for children. As of Thursday 7th January, we will be moving to remote education to comply with national lockdown guidance for schools.
We will provide:
EYFS & KS1- daily learning activities posted on our school website and weekly learning packs sent home to support this.
KS2- twice daily remote learning sessions lasting 30 minutes with your child’s class teacher using TEAMS- to register your child and talk through learning activities for that day. This will be supported by resources on the school website and sent home in learning packs.
To access this learning you will need to use a device i.e. computer or laptop, tablet or I-Pad, smart phone or games console. You also need internet access/WIFI.
There is an expectation from the Government that all children must take part in remote learning. Teachers will be monitoring the children’s progress and engagement in these lessons. Parents and children cannot opt out of remote education and learning.
Unfortunately, school has a very limited number of devices to loan to families and we do not have the resources to provide the whole school with technology. We will have to prioritise the families we loan our devices to. Please do not rely on receiving a device from school.
If you have a questions about this please speak to your childs class teacher for further information during your weekly phone calls.
Kind regards,
Mrs Mills
Interim Head of School
