Hi Guys sorry that we can't be in school today, but make sure you enjoy the snow, as well as completing some of the activities which on the website.
Why not go out into the snow and enjoy it using all your senses (though don't put it in your mouth). Then you can write a senses poem describing your experience of snow, like we did for 'The Birdman', last week.
Set your poem out like this:
Snow looks like
Snow feels like
Snow sounds like
Snow tastes like
Snows smells like
Here is my model:
Snow looks like a crisp, white blanket covering the earth;
Snow feels like an icy hand stroking my skin;
Snow sounds like silence; a spreading hush;
Snow tastes icicles burning my tongue;
Snow smells pure crystals filling the air.
Watch the lovely video of animals playing in the snow and write three sentences describing your favourite parts of the film;
e.g. I love the part when the brown horse rubs his nose in the snow.
If you have a pet, then you could make a short video on a phone of them playing in the snow. My twins made a video of our cat, Windy, running in the snowy garden yesterday!
