Summer 1
Geography: The Amazon
The children will be learning their learning with looking at climate zones before moving on to looking at the world’s rainforests. They will then look at the Amazon Rainforest in more detail; the layers, the plants and the animals. The children will then be studying the indigenous people who live in the rainforest before finally looking closely at deforestation.
Science: The Journey of Life
For our ‘Journey of Life’ topic, the children will build on their knowledge from Year 3 but looking at the different parts of a plant and their functions. They will move on to look at how plants reproduce and how they spread their seed. The children will be looking at the life cycles of frogs, insects, birds and mammals before finishing off with gestation.
